colin jellicoe                                    1942 - present

Colin was born in Manchester and in 1959 he began to study at The Regional College of Art. In the early 60's he started painting in Platt Fields Park and by the mid 60's he started work on his first figure series, paintings of people in canteens and coffee bars. These developed into a series of semi-abstract firgure in landscape.  His work has since been exhibited widely, including one man shows at Stockport Art Gallery, Salford Art Gallery and Buxton Art Gallery. His pictures are now also in many private collections both in this country and abroad.

In 1963 he opened his own gallery on Portland Street Manchester and has helped many other artists, some who now have national and international reputations.
