les harris                                     1948 - present

Les began painting seriously in the 1970's first in oils then in the early 80's he changed to watercolour. He uses the wet into wet process of painting which allows him to keep his work strong but soft in tone. He uses the same palette whatever subject he paints, this maintains his very recognisable style. His trademarks are a blue door and a man carrying a plank of wood, these are evident in many of his paintings. He has exhibited widely thoughout the North West winning the Guest's Prize in the Laing Art Competition 1993
