He was born in Manchester and after leaving school began to work in the advertising industry as a visualiser. After 30 years of working for various agencies, he is still active in the industry today and is now a self-employed freelance illustrator.
Over time he has explored most mediums but the majority of his pictures are now produced in pastels as he finds this offers him a subtle but vibrant colour palette. His subject matter varies from landscape to village life but he also enjoys the challenge of trying to capture the mood of a dramatic sky before and after a storm. However, he is equally at home when drawing the calming effects of a barge navigating its way along the local Marple canal.
He has exhibited at galleries throughout the North West including The Colin Jellico Gallery in Manchester, He recently was successful in having two pictures accepted at the prestigious Stockport Open Contemporary Exhibition and his work now features in the Vernon Building Society's 2013 limited edition calender
