Martin Frederick Hamlyn is an artist we really like, he painted mainly in watercolours and over the years produced a significant body of highly collectable works. He was a member of the Wapping Group of Artists which was formed in 1946.
He was also a very skilled wood engraver. He mostly executed scenes of London and in contrast to his watercolours his engravings are very tightly drawn, showing real draughtsmanship.
We would like to thank Joan Bullingham his granddaughter for providing us with much of the above information.
