Sheila was born in Stalybridge Cheshire, she graduated from Kingston University with BA Honours Degree in Fine Art and won a prestigious Picker Travel Scholarship to visit New York.
After undertaking Post Graduate studies at The Cyprus College of Art, Paphos, she achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 1996 she won The Royal Bank of Scotland Award at the Manchester Academy of Fine Art and in 1997 she exhibited at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Summer Show in London.
Her work has been widley viewed and her pictures are in many public and private collections. These include those of The Readers Digest Corporate collection in New York, The Rutherston Collection and Manchester City Art Gallery. She was one of the founding members of The Manchester Artists Studio Association which was set up in Granby Row in 1982.
